By accessing and using OctoSqueeze ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

OctoSqueeze provides image compression and optimization services through a web interface and API. The Service allows users to compress images in various formats including JPEG, PNG, WebP, and AVIF.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Upload or process illegal, harmful, or offensive content
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service

5. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to images you upload to the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your images solely for the purpose of providing the compression service. We do not claim ownership of your content.

6. Payment and Billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law. We reserve the right to change our pricing with 30 days' notice.

7. API Usage

Access to the OctoSqueeze API is subject to these additional terms:

  • API keys are personal and non-transferable. You are responsible for keeping your API keys secure.
  • API usage is subject to rate limits based on your subscription plan.
  • Automated scripts and bots must respect rate limits and include appropriate error handling.
  • We reserve the right to revoke API access for abuse or violation of these terms.
  • API responses and data should not be cached beyond the expiration time provided.

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or other operational reasons. We will attempt to provide notice of planned maintenance when possible.

9. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these terms. You may cancel your account at any time through your dashboard settings.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
